I'm not a chef, and I don't have a TV show, a restaurant or my own brand of pasta sauces.


I'm just a homecook, maybe a bit like you.


I'm also, at least genetically, 50% Italian. Over the years I've lived, studied and worked in Italy, and I have well over 5 decades' experience of eating Italian food. 

Me and pasta are very, very good friends.

And now I've decided to put that all to good use and write a series of cookbooks.

The Pasta & Magic series of books is based on the idea that the universe contains only 4 different types of pasta sauce. Honestly. Every dish you could think of is built on either an Oil, Pasta, Dairy or Tomato sauce.


And thinking of pasto recipes in terms of what type of sauce they are makes it much easior to find inspiration for what to cook, with whatever ingredients you have.
 

Inspirational Recipes
You can buy the first of the Pasta & Magic series, Oil Sauces, right now, as an eBook, hardback or paperback book. The eBook and hardback contain an extra chapter on the history of pasta and Italian food.


Oil Sauces alone contains over 80 recipes. I've included many traditional regional Italian recipes, that you can cook easily at home drawing inspiration from dozens of historical sources; from the pasta cooks of Medieval England and the Roman Empire to the 17th and 18th regional recipes of the Italian City States.


Online recipe videos and more
All the main recipes in the Pasta & Magic books appear alongside QR codes linking them to the Pasta & Magic website giving additional details and information like nutritional data for each recipe and links to retailers of food brands. Featured recipes also include recipe videos of me preparing the dishes in my own kitchen.


Anyone can cook like this
All the recipes you see in Pasta & Magic are real meals I've cooked for my own family. No professional chefs or stylists, just me in a domestic kitchen, photographing the pasta I've cooked moments before eating it with my family.


If I can cook like this, so can you.
